The Earth Charter Youth Group-Sierra Leone is a membership charter and an affiliate of the Earth Charter Youth International (ECYI). It membership consists of a broad range of individuals like: youth representatives, pupils from different secondary schools, university and tertiary students, and ex-combatants.

The Earth Charter Youth Group-Sierra Leone is for young people and young people, who are volunteers, man the administration of the ECYG-SL.

The Earth Charter Youth Group-Sierra Leone is broadly divided into four categories:

1)    General Membership,

2)    Board,

3)    Management and

4)    Appointed Supported Committees.

The General Membership:

This is largely made up of all registered persons or individuals within the Earth Charter Youth Group- Sierra Leone. Members with this category are not charged with specific responsibilities of duties, nevertheless, they have various tasks to perform in a bid to enable the Earth Charter Youth Group In Sierra Leone make its aims and objectives a reality.

A good number of them are appointed to committees to supported committees that are being assigned for specific tasks. Through this mechanism every one gets involved and hence feel a sense of belonging to the Earth Charter youth group In Sierra Leone.

The General Membership for a start now meets once a week, but with time has to be changed. During meetings young people in the general membership discuss programs and brainstorm on the way forward for the Earth Charter Youth Group in Sierra Leone.

The BOARD

The Board is made up of adults. These adults are individuals who are highly respected in society. It comprises of the following:

A lecturer in one of the universities in Freetown, a lawyer, a civil society activist, a religious leader and a business man and a representative from the Ministry of Youths and Sports in Freetown.

The Management:

The Management consist of certain number of individuals, who are specifically charged or mandated to carry out the daily administrative affairs of the Earth Charter Youth Group in Sierra Leone. The Earth Charter Youth Group National Coordinator or Director heads it, at the same time he/she will be assisted by a group of experienced youths to move forward the administrative affairs of the ECYG-SL. It meets periodically to review its activities and plan strategies for efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. The current management members are all volunteers, not one is on stipend or salaries.

Supported Committees:

The following are supported committees that have been appointed to help the Earth Charter Youth Group-Sierra Leone to accomplish its mandate:
